About LASC
Who are we?
We are a voluntary organisation with a management committee made up entirely of local parents. We offer a high quality Out of School Care service comprising of a Community Nursery, Holiday Club, Teen Club and before and after school care for children attending Loanhead, Paradykes, St.Margarets, Roslin and Bilston primary schools. Our staff are all qualified and experienced.
What do we do?
We provide for children aged 2 -5 Nursery we use and follow the 0-3 standards an we have the 3-5 curriculum in place for the 3-5 years, we provide for 5-14years in our Afterschools Club care with many varied activities. We aim to address their physical, social, emotional and creative needs. We do this by organising activities like, arts and crafts, trips to local parks, physical activities like football, basketball and games, we provide a homework club, we organise board games, quizzes, and many opportunities for free play and imaginative games. We promote fair play, inclusion and respect. Children have full involvement in deciding the programme of activities and events. We are a fully integrated service and welcome children with additional needs.
At breakfast club we provide a nourishing breakfast which includes fruit juice, a choice of cereals and toast and a piece of fruit for play piece. We then organise games and activities, or supervise homework until it is time to take them to school. we also incourage teeth brushing with a tooth brush bus in there each child has there own named tooth brush.
We provide the After School club and Community Nursery children with a snack and then organise activities and trips for them. We have a new outdoor play area soft tar mack an new climmbing frame in our community Garden which is used on a daily bases so thats as often as the weather permits! we also make use of local facilities and play parks.



We now operate from three bases one at Loanhead Community learning Centre in Loanhead our satellite club at Roslin Pavilion in Roslin and our new Ramsay Campus located Edge Feild Road Loanhead.
We are a registered charity and rely on the fees paid by parents to run the club. We aim to keep the fees as low as possible by applying for funds from various charitable trusts and organisations.
