Parents/Carers Survey Feedback
We had a fantastic response to the recent parent feedback questionnaire, and am delighted to state that in
the main the comments back were very favourable, and that your children enjoy the variety of
activities available in the Afterschool clubs and nursery.
Some ideas or comments which our parents/carers have made, together with our responses are:
The outdoor play opportunities are great and should be maximized at every opportunity.
We couldn’t agree more! The more we can get outside the better, and we encourage the children to
do so at every opportunity. It is important however that in the colder temperatures parents ensure
their children have warm jackets and hats (and gloves) to ensure they enjoy the outside even more.
In the summer we will ensure all children have sun screen.
My child loves baking, and I would like more to be included in the afternoon activities
Sometimes due to the time constraints it is a little difficult to fit in activities in the kitchen. However we
will try and incorporate more activities which do not require cooking time e.g. truffles and crispie
cakes. The summer holiday program includes a wide range of cooking/baking opportunities
More sporting opportunities
We have our sports coordinator who encourages children to play a variety of sports. We are aiming
to hold a sports day in the summer. If you would like to see sports incorporated into the club facilities
which we are not currently running, please feel free to come and chat to us about them
I feel sometimes the older children are a little boisterous around the smaller children
We have our separate teen clubs at Roslin and Loanhead which allows our older children (P6 & P7)
to have a little independence, and to do different activities from the younger children. During snack
times and towards the end of the day the children are all together, however we always ensure the
smaller children do not feel intimidated by this.
