A Typical day in After School Club
Your child will be met at school by a play worker. They will then be escorted to the Loanhead Community Learning Centre. For St. Margaret's and Loanhead Primary School s the children will normally be driven by minibus, however on occasion we walk. For children at Paradykes they will walk across the playground with the playworkers.
For the first few weeks of term your child will finish school at lunch time. After arriving at the ASC the children will all sit down together and eat the packed lunch which you have provided. After lunch it is play time!
We offer the children a wide variety of play. A typical day will provide a choice of activities such as lego, play station, dressing up, face painting, physical games, various arts and craft activities. We make use of the good weather whenever possible and visit local parks. Please see the notice board for daily activities. We are back at the club by around 3pm in time for the arrival of the other children. We provide snack at this time and encourage the children to help prepare it where possible.
Once your child start to go to school full time we pick them up from school and bring them to the ASC where we provide them with snack at around 3pm.
From then on it is playtime again! Your child will be offered a choice of fun activities until it is time to go home with you.
When you come to pick up your child you will be given a verbal report on your child's day and what they have done, you will be encouraged to take anything the child has made home with you. You will be asked to sign the register to confirm the child has left with you. All children must be picked up by 6pm
Remember we also offer a breakfast club service: We open at 7am and offer a wide range of healthy and nutritious foods, and activities until it is time for school, the children are then escorted to the school, ready for their day.
